MIG vs. Stick for Garage Fabrication?

I'm setting up a small fabrication corner in my garage — mostly steel brackets, table frames, maybe a small trailer someday.
Budget is tight. I can get a decent 140A MIG or a 180A Stick welder for about the same price.
MIG seems easier, but Stick is cheaper to run.

What do you guys think for long-term use?

MIG’s cleaner and easier to learn. But outside or in a breezy shop? Stick wins. If you ever do bodywork, though, MIG's worth it.
